Job summary

Industrious Recruitment is seeking a General Operative for a busy manufacturing site in Lutterworth. You will operate machinery, handle moulded parts and support the moulding team in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, good attention to detail, basic maths skills, and the ability to follow procedures as part of a team. Shift work may be required including days, nights and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Monitor machine performance and cycle times.

• Drill, tap and ultrasonic weld as required.
• Assemble and insert components.
• Pack finished products as instructed.
• Follow production procedures and works instructions.
• Complete production and quality paperwork accurately.
• Record production counts, scrap and cycle times.
• Report machine faults or quality issues to supervisor.
• Keep workstation clean and hazard-free.
• Follow all health & safety procedures and wear PPE.

General Operative - Injection Moulding

Location: Lutterworth, Leicestershire

Job Type: Temporary / Ongoing

Shift: Shift work may be required, including days, nights and rotating shifts.

We are currently recruiting for a General Operative to join a busy manufacturing environment in Lutterworth.

This is a hands-on production role where you will support the moulding team with operating machinery, handling moulded parts, carrying out secondary operations and ensuring products meet the required quality standards.

The Role

As a General Operative, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating machinery safely and efficiently
• Monitoring machine performance and cycle times
• Carrying out visual quality checks on finished parts
• Trimming excess material and deburring components
• Drilling, tapping and carrying out ultrasonic welding where required
• Assembling and inserting components
• Packing finished products according to instructions
• Following production procedures and works instructions
• Completing production and quality paperwork accurately
• Recording production counts, scrap and cycle times
• Reporting any machine faults or quality issues to the supervisor
• Keeping your workstation and surrounding areas clean, organised and hazard-free
• Following all health & safety procedures and wearing PPE as required

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Basic maths and literacy skills
• The ability to follow instructions and production procedures
• A reliable and hardworking approach
• The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Experience operating injection moulding machinery would be advantageous, although full training can be provided

Working Environment

This is a hands-on role involving standing for extended periods and manual handling. You must be comfortable working in a busy production environment and be flexible to work days, nights or rotating shifts where required.
