Blue Arrow are recruiting for experienced Machine Operators / Production Operatives for our client based in Glossop who specialise in the manufacturing of mattresses.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our mattress manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the production of mattresses, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor machinery used in mattress production (e.g., quilting machines, tape edge machines, foam cutting machines).
Set up machines according to specifications and production schedules.
Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality and consistency.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot machine issues and report malfunctions to maintenance or supervisors.
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets.
Keep work area clean and organized.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and instructions.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills:

Experience operating industrial sewing or quilting machines.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
Forklift license would be beneficial

The working hours will be 4 days a week between Monday - Friday 6am-4pm. Therefore, you will get weekends off plus 1 day off during the week.

The hourly pay rate will be £12.47 per hour

Temporary to Permanent
