Job description

We are looking for trainee machine operators who are ultimately seeking a permanent role in manufacturing. This client is based in Bognor Regis and offers an excellent opportunity for local people to learn how to manage, set, and operate print machines. This is a physically demanding role with warehouse duties and the use of PCs for printing job sheets and cards.

This client is seeking individuals who genuinely want a fresh start and a new career in manufacturing. The training on the machines lasts approximately 6 weeks, so please only apply if you are looking for long-term, permanent work.

Training will be provided on machines such as:

  • Print/Photocopiers
  • Laminating machines
  • Guillotine machines
  • Barcoding and scanning machines
  • Trimming machines
  • Rewinder machines
  • Binder machines

When machines are not in operation, all candidates will be expected to join the pick and pack operation. The aim of this position is quality, not speed—full attention to detail is required at all times to ensure the smooth operation of the 4-step program.

Shift patterns include:

  • Day shift: 6am to 2pm (Mon to Fri)
  • Afternoon shift: 2pm to 10pm (Mon to Fri)
  • Night shift: 10pm to 6am (Sun to Thurs)

Pay is based on 7.67 hours per day (38.35 hours per week). Overtime is paid after 38.35 hours at time and a half but is not compulsory.

Requirements include good English language ability, communication skills, teamwork, and preferably previous machine experience. Experience in the print industry is not essential but reliability, motivation, and teamwork are crucial. All mobile phones must be switched off in the production areas. All holiday requests must be booked one week in advance (contact the agency).

This is a temp-to-perm role, with excellent benefits including:

  • Overtime pay after 38.33 hours/week
  • 34 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Pension contributions (5% employee, 3% employer)
  • PlusBee Benefit Platform offering discounts on gift cards
  • Healthcare Discount Platform providing cashback on healthcare costs
  • Generous sick pay scheme after 1 year of service
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Death in service benefit after 1 year
  • Significant birthday benefit after 1 year
