Job description

Hales Group are delighted to be supporting our client based in Lowestoft who are looking for a Machine Operator to join their team; working within Manufacturing to ensure processes run safely, smoothly and effectively whilst following job cards and drawings.

KEY TASKS

  • Operate various plant machines (e.g., Cropping, Bending, Drilling, Sawing).
  • Follow processes for steel and aluminium, working to drawings and job cards.
  • Monitor and prevent SQEs, ensuring quality control and batch traceability.
  • Participate in Quality-H&S assessments and report recommendations.
  • Collaborate with teams, raising NCRs for supplier issues and using STOP authority for safety.
  • Maintain equipment, conduct safety checks, and follow SOPs and SSOWs.
  • Act as an ambassador for company values, maintain flexibility in tasks, and prioritize safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

PERSON SPECIFICATION AND SKILLS
  • Possess wide and current knowledge of product-specific techniques, equipment, and processes.
  • Self-motivated, with a desire to exceed targets and strive for self-improvement.
  • Excellent time management skills, able to work accurately and to tight deadlines without direct supervision.
  • Good communicator at all levels, understanding customer needs, and able to prioritise, plan, and organize work to meet business demands.
  • Flexible and receptive to change, with honesty, integrity, and an awareness of Health & Safety issues.
  • Aligns behaviours with the vision, goals, and principles of Harrod UK, seeking to be challenged and developing in-depth knowledge of Harrod products to support customer-business needs.
