Machine Operator | East Kilbride | 40,000 DOE + Bonus + Overtime
Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week | Permanent

Overview:
A leading engineering and manufacturing business in East Kilbride is looking to add an experienced Machine Operator to their team. This is a hands-on role working with a range of conventional machinery, with a particular focus on horizontal boring operations. You'll be joining a company known for its technical expertise, global reputation, and employee ownership model.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Operating a range of machine tools, with a key focus on horizontal boring
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings to machine components accurately
• Working to tight tolerances, ensuring high-quality output
• Using lathes, milling machines, drills, and other manual equipment
• Measuring and inspecting your own work to maintain standards
• Assisting with process improvements and standard procedures
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working area

What You'll Need:

• Experience as a Machine Operator or similar in an engineering/manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings
• Skilled in operating a range of manual machine tools
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset

Desirable Experience:

• Operating a Kerns Richard SH75 or similar boring machine
• Overhead crane and counterbalance forklift operation
• Awareness of safe working practices in a machine shop
