Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join our team! We are looking for someone who will support our mission to deliver high-quality, technology-based services on time and within budget.

This person will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC and traditional machines, assisting with equipment operation, tooling maintenance, and ensuring all processes are completed to produce parts. The position is located at Picatinny Arsenal.

What will you be doing?

This position is a key member of the manufacturing team. Duties include:

1. Assist in setup of jobs
2. Operate CNC machines (learning to program)
3. Fabricate parts
4. Fit and assemble machined parts into complete units
5. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and tooling pre-setters
6. Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments
7. Check machine readiness to ensure functionality and performance
8. Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly issues
9. Maintain a clean work area and ensure safe operation of all equipment

What skills will the ideal candidate have?

The position requires:

• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
• Pass drug and alcohol testing
• Good mechanical skills and experience
• High standards of quality and efficiency
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform in-process inspections
• CNC manufacturing experience is beneficial
• Solid knowledge of shop mathematics, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• CNC lathe and vertical milling experience is a plus
• Team player with multitasking and prioritization skills
• Basic PC skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
• US citizenship
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a government driver's license
• High School diploma required; college degree is a plus
• Past or present military personnel are encouraged to apply
