Our client has been established for over 40 years as a leading manufacturer of high-quality precision cutting equipment, supplying the wide format printing, sign-making, and picture framing industries.

Job Role: Machine Operator

You will be responsible for operating and setting up simple parts on machines as assigned by the department supervisor, and inspecting products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. As you gain experience, you will be trained on machine set-ups, including stripping tooling from previous jobs, which will be rewarded with increased remuneration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visually and dimensionally inspect products during production for conformity to specifications.
  • Remove tools from completed jobs for inspection and evaluation by the tooling specialist.
  • Locate, load, and feed new materials into machines as required.
  • Empty scrap containers into designated holders.
  • Maintain machine lubrication according to maintenance specifications.
  • Ensure housekeeping of the work area complies with H&S regulations.
  • Verify work orders and product drawings for each job, and check raw materials.
  • Perform operational maintenance on machines following maintenance procedures.

Requirements:

  • Ability to comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Reliability and willingness to work overtime if needed.
  • Flexible, eager to learn, and develop new skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, capable of working to schedules.
  • Experience in a similar manufacturing or assembly role.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a production environment, preferably within manufacturing or assembly, and be able to work well within a quality-focused team and meet deadlines. Training will be provided over three weeks, from 6.30am to 3.00pm.
