Job Description:

Our client is a leading UK self-adhesive label manufacturer for industries across the UK, Europe, and beyond.

The company is recruiting for Machine Operatives to join their team in Scotland. This is a permanent position for suitable candidates.

This role involves Rewinding/Slitting; however, training will be provided for candidates with Machine Operative experience in manufacturing. The main responsibility is to perform final quality control and finishing on printed rolls, preparing them for customer shipment according to specifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Locating correct printed reels for inspection based on job cards, including print proofs, cores, and packaging, and creating ID labels.
  • Threading web through the machine, setting blades for slitting to specifications.
  • Setting counters and machine tensions for specific materials.
  • Performing visual checks, removing waste and faulty prints.
  • Inspecting, slitting, and rewinding reels to final specifications, identifying core sizes.
  • Monitoring product quality, removing non-conforming items, and managing waste.
  • Packaging finished reels, labeling boxes with ID codes and quantities as per job tickets.
  • Ensuring correct packing for transportation to prevent damage.
  • Completing necessary paperwork and job cards according to ISO standards.
  • Operating the inspection unit/Flyeye vision system during rewinding.
  • Adding operator comments to the MIS system as needed.
  • Working under strict deadlines while maintaining quality.
  • Checking other rewind inspectors' reels daily, maintaining guards, and calibrating blades.
