Machine Operative - Night Shift (4 on / 4 off, 6pm-6am)

Location: Rochester

Contract Type: Permanent

Are you an experienced Machine Operative looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced, process-driven manufacturing environment? We're recruiting for a hands-on, reliable Machine Operator to join a busy production team where you'll manage raw materials, oversee automated processes, and ensure machines run smoothly throughout each shift.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Carrying out pre-start checks and cleaning of the production line
  • Setting up machinery and preparing raw materials
  • Replenishing packaging and film supplies
  • Starting production batches and monitoring output
  • Manually handling and stacking finished goods
  • Ensuring equipment hygiene standards are maintained
  • Completing accurate production documentation
  • Recording machine downtime and working with the team to reduce it
  • Troubleshooting stoppages and resolving issues
  • Supporting continuous improvement across quality, efficiency, safety, and waste reduction
  • Assisting with training of new or less experienced team members

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous machine operating experience - ideally in food production
  • Physically fit and confident with manual handling
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
