Job Description:

Amazon is seeking an AI Content Expert II to assist with annotations, content generation, and data analysis. As part of the Data Team, your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality training data to enhance Large Language Models (LLMs).

Key job responsibilities
  • Creating and annotating high-quality complex training data across multiple modalities (text, image, video) on various topics, including technical or scientific content.
  • Writing grammatically correct texts in different styles, adhering strictly to provided guidelines.
  • Performing audits and quality checks of tasks completed by other specialists, if required.
  • Making sound judgments and logical decisions when faced with ambiguous or incomplete information.
  • Diving deep into issues and implementing solutions independently.
  • Identifying and reporting tooling bugs and suggesting improvements.
A day in the life

As an AI Content Expert, you will create complex training data requiring informed and high-judgment decisions. You will collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to review and update guidelines, identify tooling improvements, and discuss data quality.

About the team

The team works in the office Monday through Friday with an eight-hour shift. We focus on continual improvement and delivering top-quality products. Our diverse team participates in regular meetings, training sessions, and Amazon events throughout the year.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High-School or equivalent diploma.
  • Proven experience working with written language data, including annotation and data markup.
  • Strong proficiency in English, with excellent writing, reading, and comprehension skills (C2 level CEFR).
  • Strong understanding of U.S. culture, society, and norms.
  • Strong research skills to gather relevant information, understand complex topics, and synthesize resources; basic understanding of academic integrity (e.g., plagiarism).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to focus for long periods.
  • Comfortable with high-school level STEM topics.
  • Ability to write and evaluate diverse subject matter across various domains.
  • Ability to adapt writing style to various guidelines and audiences.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances and strategies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience creating complex data for LLM training and evaluation.
  • Experience with command line interfaces and basic UNIX commands.
  • Familiarity with markup languages like HTML, XML, Markdown.
  • Familiarity with text formats such as JSON, CSV, RTF.
  • Working knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with regular expressions.
  • Knowledge of Large Language Models.
  • Comfort working with sensitive content during annotation tasks.
