Role: Machine Learning Engineer

Duration: Initial 6-12 months

Clearance Required: eDV

A leading client within the UK defence sector is seeking experienced Machine Learning Engineers to join their AI and data science division. Contribute to UK national defence by developing advanced AI solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing ML models for real-time and mission-critical defence environments
• Processing and analysing complex datasets (geospatial, signals, operational data)
• Collaborating with software engineers, data scientists, and defence stakeholders
• Testing, validating, and documenting ML models per standards
• Staying updated with emerging AI/ML techniques for defence applications

Requirements:

• Strong background in machine learning, data science, or AI with a related degree
• Programming skills in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch
• Experience building ML pipelines from prototype to deployment
• Understanding of algorithm performance in sensitive environments
• Experience in defence, aerospace, or security sectors preferred
• Knowledge of computer vision, signal processing, or NLP
• Exposure to MLOps, edge computing, synthetic data
• Knowledge of government or MOD procurement frameworks is a plus
