Machine Learning Engineer | £65k–£70k | Remote (UK)

Tellme is an AI-driven platform that enriches visitor experiences at attractions (museums, aquariums, heritage sites etc.). We use computer vision and generative AI to deliver interactive and personalised experiences straight to visitors' phones.

After successful pilots with Madame Tussauds and National Museums Wales, we have closed our pre-seed round and are now building a scalable platform for wider rollout. We are hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of our core AI systems.

What you’ll work on

• Computer Vision: Design, train, and deploy computer vision models (e.g. classification, image matching, object detection) that recognise objects and exhibits accurately across large attractions.
• Conversational AI: Integrate LLMs and RAG systems to enable contextual and safe user interactions.
• Voice Interfaces: Implement speech-to-text and text-to-speech for natural, hands-free experiences.
• MLOps & Backend: Develop scalable infrastructure (preferably on AWS), REST APIs, and continuous learning pipelines.
• Tech Leadership: Collaborate directly with the CEO to plan the product roadmap and advise on technical feasibility, feature prioritisation, and AI strategy.
• Future Growth: Opportunity to grow into a CTO-level role as the company scales.

What we’re looking for

• Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience in computer vision (preferred) or transferable ML expertise.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, MLOps practices, and backend development.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, and prompt engineering is a plus.
• Interest in AR, indoor navigation, or data infrastructure is a bonus.
• Remote-first: UK-based, with regular travel to partner sites.
• Start: July 2025 (flexible).
