Job summary

Switch Tech Talent is seeking Machine Learning Engineers at various levels to build robust data platforms and implement AI/ML for clients. The role rewards ownership from day one and deep collaboration with end users on greenfield projects.

They are assembling teams of problem solvers across data, AI/ML, and technical leadership, with room to specialise and contribute to edge, AI safety, and regulated environments. This is a fast-moving, high-calibre consultancy.

Qualifications

• STEM degree from a leading university (2:1 or above).
• Eligibility for UK SC-level security clearance.
• Experience in defence or highly regulated environments is advantageous.
• Ability to understand problem-solving principles and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Integrating AI components into applications and workflows
• LLM evaluation, failure modes, and mitigation strategies
• Testing and debugging non-deterministic systems
• LLM principles and transformer architectures
• LLM performance evaluation and inference optimisations
• Developing modules for edge, constrained or air-gapped environments would be a plus

Machine Learning Engineer responsibilities include:

• LLM principles and transformer architectures
• LLM performance evaluation and inference optimisations

• Explainable AI or AI safety/security would be a plus

Current and upcoming project include work in the following areas:
