IPL Normanton is hiring a Machine Hygienist to join the onsite Hygiene team at our Normanton Fresh Produce Packing Facility. This permanent role follows a 4 on 4 off schedule from 7am to 7pm and focuses on maintaining high hygiene standards across pack house, warehouse, and perimeter areas.

The ideal candidate has factory environment experience, strong practical skills, good English, and COSHH awareness, with commitment to training and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a factory environment.

• Awareness of Health and Safety policies.
• Food Safety Level 1 or equivalent.
• COSHH certification.
• Good level of English.
• Willing to take required training.

Responsibilities

• Keep operational areas clean and to high standards (pack house, warehouse, stores, and building perimeter).
• Record Sodium Hypochlorite readings and take corrective action.
• Handle chemicals per COSHH training and regulations.
• Communicate issues to Hygiene supervisor/Shift Operations Leader/Area Leader.
• Ensure training is followed and areas meet BRC and COSHH standards.
• Comply with Hygiene Cleaning Schedule.
• Record all completed Hygiene on sign-off sheets.
• Follow Cleaning Instruction cards and SOPs.
• Work to a timely manner to maximise efficiency and handle additional tasks as needed.

About The Role

Join Our Dynamic Hygiene Team at IPL Normanton!

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Machine Hygienist to become a vital part of our onsite Hygiene at our Normanton Fresh Produce Packing Facility. If you are passionate about Hygiene and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this role is perfect for you!

Position Details

Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 7am - 7pm

Location: IPL Normanton, site based

Contract Type: Permanent

Your key responsibilities will include

• Keep operational areas clean and to high standards, this includes pack house; warehouse and stores and perimeter of the building.
• You will also be involved in waste processing, water and electricity readings and record, monitoring and recording Sodium Hypochlorite readings complete with relevant corrective action taken
• Handle chemicals as per COSHH training and regulations
• Effectively communicate to Hygiene supervisor/Shift Operations Leader/Area Leader regarding any issues or concerns over any hygiene issues within shift
• Ensure that all training is adhered to and all required areas are controlled to meet BRC and COSHH standards
• Comply with Hygiene Cleaning Schedule
• Record all completed Hygiene on relevant sign off sheets
• Comply with existing Cleaning Instruction cards and SOP’s
• Working to a timely manner as to maximize efficiency and completing additional tasks at quieter periods

What are we looking for

• Experience of working with factory environment
• Good practical skills
• The ability to work quickly and methodically within a team environment and follow instructions
• An awareness of Health and Safety and understanding of Health and safety policies in the workplace
• Food Safety Level 1 or equivalent
• COSHH certification
• Good level of understanding of the English language
• Willing to take any training required for this role and work flexibly
