Job Opportunity: Machine Grinder at Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services

Carbon60 is proud to partner with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit a Machine Grinder for their Machine Shop department. Lufthansa Technik is a global leader in maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.

This permanent position is available due to ongoing growth and expansion. The successful candidate will be responsible for grinding aircraft components to precise specifications in accordance with company procedures.

Role Responsibilities include:

1. Operate various types of grinding machines to achieve fine tolerances.
2. Work independently with minimal supervision.
3. Read and interpret technical drawings.
4. Work with cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
5. Maintain awareness of environmental responsibilities outlined in company procedures.
6. Keep and maintain the Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
7. Potentially train personnel within your area of expertise, depending on qualifications and experience.

Skills and Experience required:

1. Extensive experience with internal and external grinding machines.
2. Knowledge of both is essential.
3. Aerospace background is preferred but not essential.
4. Experience with cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
5. Knowledge of CNC grinding is advantageous.
6. Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.

The role involves working on a double-day shift schedule: either Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, alternating weekly between early shifts (6am-2pm) and late shifts (2pm-10pm).
