Job summary

Morgan Ryder is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to design and develop mechanisms, machine systems and complete special purpose machines. You will design new systems, modify existing designs, and support build and commissioning across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3D CAD experience (Siemens NX preferred).
• Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design new machine systems, mechanisms, and components.
• Modify and improve existing designs to meet customer needs.
• Support manufacturing and assembly during build and commissioning.
• Produce CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Manage BOMs and part releases via SAP.
• Conduct design reviews and PFMEA/DFMEA.

The Role

You will be responsible for the design and development of mechanisms, machine systems and complete special purpose machines.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing new machine systems, mechanisms, and components
• Modifying and improving existing machine designs to meet customer requirements
• Working on machine tool design, tooling, and automated systems
• Supporting manufacturing and assembly during machine build and commissioning
• Producing detailed CAD models and engineering drawings
• Managing BOMs and part releases via SAP
• Conducting design reviews, DFMEA and PFMEA
• Supporting technical bids and customer-facing documentation
• Special purpose machinery (SPM)
• Bespoke automated machines / production systems
• Strong background in mechanism and machine design (not just static components)
• Proven experience designing moving assemblies and complex systems
• Ability to work across the full machine lifecycle
• HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3D CAD experience (Siemens NX - advantageous)
• Experience with manufacturing processes and assembly support
• Familiarity with DFMEA / PFMEA / design reviews
