Qualifications

• Previous experience in machine building or machine assembly.
• Experience assembling mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Good general knowledge of engineering practices, tooling and production methods.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• 3D CAD experience would be beneficial.
• Good problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Willingness to learn and work with new technologies.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Build machinery and equipment from engineering drawings, schematics and models.

We are recruiting for a Machine Assembly Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing business in the Colchester area.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience building machinery, automation or production equipment to join a small, friendly engineering team. The role will involve assembling and introducing internally designed machinery, ranging from mechanical jigs through to larger automated systems incorporating electrical and pneumatic components.

As a Machine Assembly Engineer, you will work from engineering drawings, schematics and 3D models to build machinery for use within production. You ll also have the opportunity to get involved in testing, troubleshooting, continuous improvement and the development of new equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build machinery and equipment from engineering drawings, schematics and models
• Assemble mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
• Test completed machinery to ensure it operates correctly and within specification
