Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a M365 Engineer to design, implement and support modern workplace technologies across our Northampton site and beyond. You will focus on Microsoft 365, telephony, Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive, driving automation and governance to keep our digital workplace secure and user-friendly.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 technologies.
• Excellent knowledge of Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Exchange Online, telephony.
• Experience developing automation scripts using PowerShell.
• Proven track record delivering infrastructure or workplace technology projects.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across modern workplace platforms.
• Experience working within ITIL service management.
• Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A passion for continuous improvement and service optimisation.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and maintaining Microsoft 365 solutions including Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Viva Copilot and Power.
• Leading technical improvements that enhance collaboration, productivity and user experience.
• Developing automation solutions using PowerAutomate, PowerShell, Graph API and related technologies.
• Supporting Microsoft 365 migrations, deployments and integrations.
• Monitoring service performance and proactively identifying opportunities for optimisation.
• Working with security teams to maintain compliance, governance and information protection standards.
• Managing incidents, service requests and changes in line with ITIL best practice.
• Producing technical documentation, knowledge articles and support materials.
• Keeping ahead of Microsoft's roadmap and evaluating emerging technologies, including Copilot and AI-powered workplace solutions.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the wider team.
