Arla Foods Taw Valley Creamery in North Tawton is seeking an M&E Technician to join the site services team. The role focuses on developing and reviewing commissioning plans to ensure project objectives are met and aligns with a £179 million site transformation, delivering reliable mechanical and electrical support.

You will work 4 on/4 off days, 42 hours per week, maintaining and reviewing preventative maintenance, testing boilers and HVAC, and coordinating with OEMs.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice in a relevant mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Positive, resilient approach to problem solving and teamwork.
• Experience in building services or facilities management is preferred.

• Maintain site services across Taw Valley Creamery in line with preventative maintenance.

• Authorise permits and ensure safe, compliant work practices.
• Liaise with OEMs and coordinate maintenance on boilers, HVAC and related systems.

Job description

We have an exciting M&E Technician opportunity to join our Taw Valley Creamery site services team. This is especially exciting as the creamery is undergoing a major transformation, thanks to a £179 million investment. This role is responsible for developing and reviewing commissioning plans to ensure project objectives are met. This role follows a 4on/4off days only work pattern for a total of 42 hours per week.

How You Will Make An Impact

Maintaining services across the site in line with our Planned Preventative Maintenance programme and provide corrective maintenance in case of site equipment failure and breakdown across the following; Steam boiler, Waste Heat Boiler and CHP checks and testing in line with legal requirements, Refrigeration plant, Effluent Treatment Plant, Hot & Cold water systems, Cooling tower maintenance, HVAC maintenance.

• To work alongside the OEM's when services are carried out.
• Challenge current processes and practices to identify new opportunities to improve operation and efficiency
• Conduct equipment and plant condition appraisals.
• Awareness of relevant QEHS compliance within the role such as Legionella, fire safety, PSSR, LOTO.
• Authorise permits and ensure the work is being carried out in a safe and controlled manner.

What Will Make You Successful

You should be a time-served apprentice within a relevant discipline, such as mechanical or electrical engineering, with a positive and resilient approach to problem solving, teamwork and continuous improvement. Previous experience within a similar sector, such as building services or facilities management, is required. Relevant industry experience could also include water treatment, industrial facilities management, anaerobic digestion, commercial shipping or facilities maintenance.
