Job summary

G. & D. Higgins Mechanical Services Ltd is seeking a reliable Stores Coordinator (M&E) to support its maintenance teams in Uxbridge.

You will manage a safe, organized stores, receive and issue materials, and maintain traceable stock records. The role involves manual handling and coordinating deliveries with engineers and suppliers. You will work primarily in the company stores, using ERP/CAFM tools to keep records accurate and up to date, while following safety standards and COSHH requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores, warehousing, stock control or related operational role.
• Good literacy and numeracy; able to check part numbers, quantities and supporting records.
• Competence using standard computer and mobile systems for data entry and record keeping.
• Organised, methodical and accurate approach to work.
• Ability to undertake physical duties safely with manual handling equipment.
• Clear communication and ability to escalate shortages, errors and safety concerns.

Responsibilities

• Receive deliveries and check against orders and documentation.
• Record stock receipts, issues, returns, transfers and adjustments.
• Maintain clear stock locations, descriptions and quantities.
• Pick and prepare materials, tools, PPE for planned and reactive work.
• Coordinate collections, deliveries and returns with proper records.
• Maintain tool, test equipment and PPE records and calibration dates.
• Report shortages, discrepancies and safety concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with engineers, purchasing, finance and suppliers.
