A leading design & build contractor in Braintree is looking for an experienced M&E Site Supervisor for a 6-8 month project. The ideal candidate will oversee mechanical and electrical service installations, ensuring projects meet quality standards and deadlines. Qualifications include an SMSTS or SSSTS, a CSCS Gold card, and solid communication skills. This role offers competitive pay and is essential for project success.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems.
  • Must have SMSTS / SSSTS qualification.
  • Possess a CSCS Gold card or higher.
  • Experience on commercial projects required.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills essential.
  • Must be IT literate in MS Word & Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise subcontractors ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and deliver Toolbox Talks.
  • Monitor site progress and adapt scheduling as needed.
  • Ensure installations meet specified standards.
  • Report on progress and liaise with the main contractor.

Overview

M&E Site Supervisor – Location: Braintree, Essex • Duration: 6-8 months (starting November 2025) • Salary: £300 per day

About the Role

We are working with a leading design & build contractor who are seeking an experienced M&E Site Supervisor to join a major project consisting of two new-build warehouse units. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising the installation of mechanical and electrical services, ensuring safe, timely and high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with risk assessments and method statements
  • Carry out safety inspections and deliver daily Toolbox Talks
  • Monitor site progress and re-schedule works if necessary to meet programme deadlines
  • Ensure installations meet drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Report on progress and liaise daily with the main contractor
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems
  • SMSTS / SSSTS qualification
  • CSCS Gold card (or higher)
  • Previous experience working on commercial projects
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • IT literate (MS Word & Excel)
