Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Watford is seeking an M&E Shift Engineer to join a 4 on, 4 off rotation covering days and nights at Vodafone fixed line sites. You will undertake routine PPM tasks, carry out reactive repairs and ensure compliance with health and safety while working with a supportive mobile engineering team.

The role focuses on M&E, general maintenance and soft services within a critical engineering environment. A strong emphasis on safe, compliant operations is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in a similar role in a commercial environment.
• Electrical apprenticeship and/or City & Guilds qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
• Sound technical knowledge of M&E equipment in modern critical environments including DC systems.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine PPM tasks and planned maintenance in line with scheduled dates.
• Carry out reactive repairs across the site.
• Develop operational strategies to ensure compliance and success of critical services related to Vodafone fixed line sites.
• Work to high levels of health and safety and complete all required documentation.
• Assist with general building maintenance and coordinate with supporting mobile engineers.

ROLE: M&E Shift Engineer
HOURS: 4 on, 4 off rotation – Days (7am–7pm) and Nights (7pm–7am)
LOCATION: Watford

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine PPM tasks and planned maintenance in line with scheduled dates
• Carry out reactive repairs as required across the site.
• Develop operational strategies and implementation processes to ensure compliance and success of critical services associated with Vodafone fixed line sites, covering M&E, general maintenance and soft services.
• Work to high levels of health and safety and statutory requirements, ensuring all documentation is completed correctly for all tasks.
• Assist with general building maintenance activities and work closely with supporting mobile engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role in a commercial environment.
• Ideally have completed an electrical apprenticeship and/or hold City & Guilds qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
• Sound technical knowledge with understanding of all M&E equipment in modern critical environments, including DC electrical systems.
• Experience in critical environments is desirable.
