The M&E Project Manager will oversee Mechanical & Electrical works, refurbishments, new installations, and minor projects ranging from values of £25k-1m.

  • Location: Science and Technology Facility Council, Harwell, Didcot
  • Hours Per Week:Monday - Friday, 40 Hours
  • Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (6 months)

The M&E Project Manager shall:

  • Manage all site staff related to projects under your control.
  • Drive project planning and scheduling.
  • Attend preconstruction site visits with clients, the commercial team, and supply chain.
  • Liaise with clients, design teams, and stakeholders to develop project scopes, technical solutions, and delivery plans.
  • Manage and control all project resources.
  • Oversee the overall management of projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures and health, safety, environmental, and quality management standards.
  • Ensure high standards of quality and workmanship on site.
  • Monitor and control all aspects of projects.
  • Deliver projects within agreed programme and budget.
  • Adhere to site-specific project protocols and procedures.
  • Manage and monitor subcontractors.
  • Communicate effectively with the project management team.
  • Attend and chair project progress meetings, preparing progress reports for clients.
  • Maintain project documentation, including RAMS, cost reports, risk registers, and programme updates.
  • Attend and chair subcontractor meetings as required.
  • Compile and distribute project meeting minutes.
  • Maintain contractual records of project-related matters (Cemar).
  • Participate in contract meetings with clients.
  • Introduce improvements and innovations.
  • Promote the company positively.
  • Compile and submit O&M manuals upon project completion.

About You

Essential Criteria

  1. Experience in a Project Management role.
  2. Strong communication and management skills.
  3. Knowledge of construction design management (CDM).
  4. Technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, heating, etc.).
  5. Experience delivering commercial projects up to £1m.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects of varying scope and value.
  7. Knowledge of NEC 4 contracts (preferable).
  8. Proficiency in planning using MS Project.
  9. Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
