Job summary

An established industry player is urgently seeking experienced M&E Project Managers to support various projects across the North of England. This role involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from identifying opportunities to ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering and be adept at managing project P&L. With a flexible approach to travel and a commitment to delivering results, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in a dynamic environment.

Job description

M&E Project Manager

Location: Chester and surrounding areas

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6 Month initial contract

Day rate: £280 - £320 per day

Candidates must have a flexible approach to travelling

Urgently seeking experienced M&E Project Managers to support the delivery of various projects across sites in the North of England.

Key responsibilities for the M&E Project Manager include but are not limited to:
  1. Identify and generate project work opportunities within a set portfolio of maintenance contracts.
  2. Take full accountability for the P&L of each project.
  3. Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects from start to finish, including estimating, business development, quantity surveying, sub-contractor management, and site management duties.
  4. Identify, mitigate, and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the projects.
  5. Collaborate with developers, designers, and sub-contractors to define and document the scope of work.
  6. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the project scope aligned with the business case and desired outcomes, ensuring adherence to budget and profit margins.
  7. Manage and prepare tenders on behalf of the client as required.
  8. Ensure compliance with all project management policies and procedures.
  9. Agree on payment schedules and process payment applications.
  10. Provide monthly progress reports to the Head of Projects or Sector Director.

The ideal candidate must have a technical background in either Mechanical or Electrical engineering.

Due to contract requirements, candidates will need to undergo a security clearance process.
