Job summary

The Social Hub is hiring for an M&E Operations Host in Glasgow. You will manage guest experiences across a mix of events, ensuring top-tier service, understanding event packages, and maintaining event spaces and AV equipment.

The role emphasizes a proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work both with a team and solo during shifts. You’ll be the front-line ambassador, delivering food and beverages, guiding guests around facilities, and sharing local recommendations to create memorable

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in event operations and multi-room environments.
• Flexible, hands-on, motivated and positive approach.
• Comfortable working solo on occasion to complete tasks.
• Strong dexterity and rapid response to guest requests.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods.
• Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

As our M&E Operations Host, you’ll be operating on all of our mixed portfolio of events, making sure that each guest is having the best possible TSH-experience. You will become that master at providing awesome service at all of our exciting events. You will be know our building backwards and able to set up events at the drop of a hat. You’ll be able to answer any question that comes your way because you are at the forefront of our guest facing operation. You know everything about our products and what is included at each event. And it’s because of you that everyone who enters our Glasgow-location will become a raving fan of TSH instantly! We're looking for someone that is available for 5 days per week, and is able to cover morning and evening shifts.

What You’ll Do

• You make sure everyone at the event gets a warm welcome as soon as they walk in and help be the face of our events delivery here at the hotel
• You’ll help with setting up and breaking down all our event spaces before and after events, often flying solo on these days
• You will deliver our various food and drink offers served at our multiple events
• You will monitor and maintain our event equipment and be a champion of the events store
• You will be confident in using our inhouse AV equipment helping our delegates with any issues that may arise
• Tidy home’s a happy home. You’ll make sure everything is spick and span in all areas and ready for the following shift
• You’ll understand all of our event packages, be up to date with menu changes
• You’ll be a secret concierge to the city, answering all of your guests’ questions about the best places to visit, eat, shop or party
• You’ll help our guests with any requests or demands regarding our facilities (you may even pick up some new tech skills along the way!)

Who You Are

• You have at least one year of experience working in event operations, preferably in a multi room environment
• You have a flexible, hands-on, motivated and positive approach
• You are confident to work solo on occasion to get the job done
• You’re an octopus that loves to get your dexterity skills into action
• You love responsibility and handle stressful peak periods like a pro
• Fluent in English– Know any other languages? The more the merrier!
• Hard working, responsible and a “let’s do this!” mentality
