Job summary

Join Skanska UK Plc as part of the hard services team, where you'll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance of building services systems. Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent with a focus on electrical or building services. One of our key Building Services contracts is with the MoD on a huge base near Watford, where we deliver hard, soft and technical FM services to our onsite client

This crucial role will see you work within the hard services team who deliver planned and reactive maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, infrastructure, heating and hot water installations, building services plant and equipment, as delegated by the Engineering Supervisors / Managers in support of the contract

What you'll do:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works investigations/repairs on, but not limited to, the sitewide electrical infrastructure on site
  • Support planned preventative maintenance, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works investigations/repairs on the sitewide mechanical & fabric infrastructure/services on site where required
  • Service, test, diagnose and repair process control systems and automatic control devices related to the building services plant and equipment
  • Liaise / assist with other services as necessary for the efficient delivery of work activities, workmanship and productivity to comply with the performance standards
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance of at least SC level
  • Use provided test and monitoring equipment for the purpose of maintaining engineering system operational performance and to aid fault diagnostics and repair, interrogate and adjust systems to maintain correct operation of plant and equipment

What you'll bring to the role:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent (including recognised apprenticeship) with an electrical or building services bias
  • Working knowledge of other building services and trades
  • Excellent team working and problem-solving capabilities
  • Must be able to fully satisfy the Client security clearance minimum requirements (SC)
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills

This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
