Job summary

A market-leading design-and-build specialist is seeking an M&E Design Manager to oversee the full M&E scope for innovative water play projects. This role includes designing water treatment systems, collaborating with project teams, and managing technical documentation. Ideal candidates will have proven experience in M&E design and a solid understanding of filtration systems. The position allows for remote working but may require national travel.

M&E Design Manager - Water Play & Filtration Systems

Location: Remote working available but national travel may be required

Salary: Up to £50k plus car allowance

Type: Permanent | Full-Time

Are you ready to combine technical design expertise with imaginative outdoor spaces? Our client, a market-leading design-and-build specialist for water play areas across the UK, is looking for a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Design Manager to join their growing team.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of the full M&E scope on innovative and playful water-based projects, shaping experiences that families and communities will enjoy for years to come.

What you'll be doing:

1. Designing and implementing water treatment and filtration systems in line with PWTAG guidelines
2. Collaborating with CAD technicians on plant room layouts and piping schematics
3. Working alongside project administrators to build parts lists and manage pipe/fittings orders
4. Specifying pump sizes and assisting in the creation of performance specifications for tenders
5. Managing project planning, technical documentation, and supporting installation teams
6. Liaising with suppliers, internal teams, and external partners throughout the design process

What you'll bring:

1. Proven experience in M&E design (ideally within water treatment, leisure, or building services)
2. Strong understanding of filtration systems, pumps, and PWTAG compliance
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
4. Organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing a diverse technical workload
5. Bonus if you have working knowledge of CAD and/or Revit
