Mechanical & Electrical Contracts Manager - £50,000 - £60,000 & Package - Leeds

I am recruiting for an experienced M&E Contracts Manager to join an ever-growing Leeds-based fit-out contractor. My client covers commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects throughout the Yorkshire region. Projects will range in value from £500,000 to approximately £1 million, with an average job value of circa £750,000. You will assist sites simultaneously, create your own programmes for site using Microsoft Project, and work alongside the existing operational and commercial teams.

My client is looking for a driven and passionate individual to join them on a permanent basis, offering clear progression and development paths. They have a full order book for the next 20 months and are sourcing this individual due to continued growth.

M&E Contracts Manager Job Description:

• Management of projects on site varying from £1k to £15m.
• Be the point of contact for all activity relating to project delivery.
• Coordinate delivery of all project activities on site between different trade subcontractors and internal teams.
• Work with operational teams to turn project plans and quotes into reality.
• Manage all stakeholders and work with Site Managers to create the project programme.
• Coordinate Mechanical services (RCPs, etc.) with other building elements and resolve services clashes on site.
• Provide technical support to M&E trade packages on site to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Attend and represent the division at all site progress meetings, producing progress reports as required.
• Produce and compile all Mechanical project-specific H&S documentation.
• Manage variations with on-site stakeholders and communicate these back to Contract Managers.
• Work with the Commercial Manager to produce valuations of works completed and Final Accounts.
• Produce and compile Project O&M information.

Tasks & Duties:

• Build and lead construction teams.
• Manage design development and changes during construction.
• Review and manage construction drawings and submissions.
• Manage and review internal & subcontractor H&S information.
• Review and manage project programme.
• Monitor project progress and set deadlines.
• Attend project progress meetings.
• Evaluate and manage engineering and installation performance and standards.
• Manage procurement and valuations during construction with the CM.
• Manage commissioning programme and drive snagging work.
• Collate and issue O&M information.

Candidate Description:

• Responsible and takes ownership of workload.
• Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different stakeholders.
• Works well with others to maximize team performance.
• At least 5 years of experience in a trade background, looking to advance their career.
• Desire to pursue or hold a Further Education qualification in Building Services is preferable.
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for timely completion.
• Always seeks value in their work.
• Confident communicator, collaborative, and relationship builder.
• Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-starter capable of working in dynamic environments.
