Our client is recognized as a market-leading contractor throughout the UK and Europe, with a strong reputation nationwide. They specialize in delivering commercial, healthcare, and data centre projects, and also operate in the rail, education, and pharmaceutical sectors. Their experience ranges from small contracts circa £500k to major projects exceeding £100m.
Due to continuous growth and recent key project wins, their turnover is expected to surpass £500M with secured work for 2025/2026. They are actively recruiting a Commercial Manager with an M&E background.
- Manage multiple projects across sectors such as Commercial, Rail, Healthcare, Data Centre, depending on work influx.
- Build partnerships with key stakeholders, including PQS, main contractors, and end users.
- Manage commercial activities and prepare reports for the Commercial Manager.
- Collaborate with Operations, Estimating, Procurement, and Design departments to deliver profitable work.
- Handle the management, submission, and agreement of Applications and Final Accounts.
- Oversee Sub-Contractor Interim Payments, site measures, Payments, Notices, and Final Accounts.
- Liaise with the Procurement team regarding Sub-Contractor packages, including financial checks and contract preparation.
- Support monitoring of live project progress.
- Prepare and submit contractual notices and correspondence to clients and subcontractors.
- Prepare cash flows, forecasts, monthly cost reports, and budget analyses.
- Monitor costs across the division.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience at a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Lead level in M&E.
- Detailed technical knowledge of M&E and construction processes.
- Contractual awareness and knowledge.
- Experience managing teams and mentoring juniors.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for dealing with clients and subcontractors.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Experience with JCT and NEC contracts.
- Experience in the commercial, data centre, and rail sectors is preferred.
- Experience in a senior management role.
- Established relationships with supply chain partners, including subcontractors and suppliers.
- Proven track record of delivering multiple projects and managing project teams.
