Job summary

West Yorkshire Police is seeking a Clerk of Works (Mechanical and Electrical) to oversee M&E works across a diverse estate. The role focuses on on-site inspections, contractor oversight and compliance to support safe, reliable buildings.

You will engage with project teams, engineers and specialists, traveling across West Yorkshire to ensure standards are met and assets are well maintained. This permanent, full-time post offers a clear pathway for professional impact.

Qualifications

• Qualified building services engineer with mechanical or electrical experience.
• City & Guilds Level 3 / ONC Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience managing and coordinating mechanical and electrical contractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site inspections, contractor performance and compliance.
• Support delivery of M&E projects including maintenance and major installations.
• Liaise with contractors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor mechanical and electrical systems and BMS performance.
• Witness testing and commissioning of new installations.
