Job summary

PJA in Manchester is seeking an experienced M&E CAD Technician to join its team. You will produce high-quality mechanical and electrical drawings, support engineers throughout the design process, and help deliver coordinated technical packages.

Working with design engineers across sectors, you will advance from concepts to construction documentation. The role offers hybrid working with office presence in Manchester two days per week and opportunities to develop Revit capabilities and BIM

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD for mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience with Revit MEP and BIM coordination is beneficial.
• Understanding of building services systems and their coordination within the built environment.
• Ability to interpret engineers' sketches and convert to clear drawings.
• Experience in consultancy or contractor environments with drawing standards and revision control.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D CAD drawings for mechanical and electrical building services installations.
• Work knowledge of Revit MEP and develop further skills.
• Develop and amend M&E layouts, plantroom arrangements, containment layouts and coordinated services drawings.
• Support delivery of mechanical designs including HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and public health systems.
• Assist with electrical drawings covering lighting, small power, distribution, containment and specialist systems.
• Interpret engineers' sketches, specifications and design calculations to produce accurate drawings.
• Coordinate building services layouts with architectural and structural disciplines.
• Identify clashes and propose practical solutions with the wider design team.
• Assist in preparing drawing packages for planning, tender, technical design and construction stages.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions and project documentation.
