Fusion People Ltd is recruiting an ambitious Assistant M&E Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team on a range of mechanical and electrical projects across Manchester.

The role targets early-career QS professionals seeking hands-on experience, structured development, and exposure to major building services projects. Hybrid working and a clear progression pathway are available, with APC/Chartership support.

Qualifications

• Experience in a quantity surveying role, ideally with exposure to M&E.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Understanding of building services or a willingness to learn quickly.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (or working toward it).
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Cost reporting — Assist in preparing cost plans, budgets, and financial updates.
• Measurement & BOQs — Support the production of quantities and tender documentation.
• Procurement support — Help evaluate subcontractor quotes and prepare tender analyses.
• Valuations & variations — Contribute to monthly valuations and change management.
• Contract administration — Assist with NEC/JCT documentation and project records.
• Project coordination — Work closely with senior QSs, engineers, and site teams.
