M&A Technical Accounting Analyst

Job summary

Haleon seeks an Analyst in Technical Accounting & Transactions to deliver IFRS-focused accounting for major transactions, working under GTAA guidance in London. You will support Day-1 reporting, pre- and post-close activities, and ensure robust documentation and controls.

You’ll collaborate with Corporate Development, Tax, Treasury, and Consolidation teams, handling complex accounting entries and ensuring SOX-aligned records. A finance background and ACA/ACCA/CIMA path are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or actively progressing towards qualification.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and interest in advanced technical accounting and transactions.
• Experience in audit, accounting advisory, financial reporting, controllership or transaction support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong prioritisation and organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines in a project-based environment.
• High attention to detail and strong control mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support GTAA finance workstreams for major transactions from pre-deal through sign-to-close and post-close stabilisation.
• Assist with transaction reporting requirements, timetables, controls and documentation.
• Prepare analyses, accounting entries and schedules for acquisition accounting and IFRS 3/IFRS 5 matters.
• Support preparation of Group reporting instructions, presentations and training for finance stakeholders.
• Coordinate inputs across Corporate Development, Tax, Treasury and Consolidation.
• Review deal documentation and summarise potential accounting implications for senior review.
• Gather and reconcile financial information from internal and external sources, including royalties and transitional services.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation in line with SOX and governance requirements.
• Assist with finance system updates, reporting hierarchies and master data from transactions.
• Support post-close stabilisation activities and transaction-related finance risk monitoring.
