Job Description:

The role

M&A Operations is a market-leading team within the Strategy& business unit in the Deals line of service, assisting both Corporate and Private Equity clients in high-impact business situations. Our work primarily focuses on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), including pre- and post-deal activities, as well as non-deal transformation projects, all with a fast-paced Private Equity approach.

Our team is diverse, consisting of dynamic and friendly professionals from various backgrounds.

Our services support clients to maximize value through four main categories:

  1. Buy and sell side operational due diligence: assessing business performance and identifying improvements to unlock value.
  2. Carve-out and divestment support: understanding standalone business needs and transitional services.
  3. Execution of separation and ensuring a smooth Day 1 transition.
  4. Mergers & Acquisitions Integration: protecting and growing value through effective integration and synergy development.

We also focus on performance improvement using our Rapid Value Creation methodology, identifying where value lies and how to generate sustainable cost savings.

What your days will look like:

While based in London, project activity is global, often requiring short-notice travel. Overseas assignments may involve multiple-week stays with regular trips home, so candidates should be prepared for this.

The M&A Ops team is sector-structured, with cross-sector teams in Finance, Technology, and Integration. Although aligned with the IPS-EURI sector (Industrial Products & Services and Energy, Utilities, Resources & Infrastructure), project types vary based on market demand, requiring flexibility.

The skills & experience we're looking for:

  • Operational line management or transformational experience in a corporate setting, with involvement in private equity operations or operational transaction services.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, manufacturing best practices, operational restructuring, or cost reduction.
  • Strong understanding of functions such as engineering, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to quickly assess business performance and identify improvement opportunities with limited information and management interaction.

What you’ll receive from us:

Our benefits are designed to support your career and personal life, offering fair recognition and rewards. Benefits include flexible working arrangements, private medical coverage, 24/7 virtual GP access, volunteering days, and more.
