What will you be doing?
  • Manage M&A projects (with support from and reporting into Associate Director/ Director / Partner) including being the day to day point of contact for clients.
  • Actively managing client interfaces taking responsibility for managing all phases of the transaction cycle and deal execution.
  • Leading and managing the delivery of marketing documentation, as well as pitch materials and client proposals.
  • Directing and managing junior colleagues, analysts and support staff on M&A transactions, including reviewing their work.
  • Coaching and contributing to the development of junior team members.
  • Set, monitor and control M&A project budgets, billing and other reporting requirements.
  • Taking responsibility for, and proactively assisting business development efforts, including pitching for new work.
  • Building detailed financial models, to inform a variety of transaction related considerations (e.g. valuation, debt sizing and pricing analysis).
What will you need to do it?
  • Must have relevant corporate finance experience in an investment bank, Big 4 (or mid-tier), corporate (e.g. in-house M&A) or investment firm (e.g. an asset manager or institution). Significant transactional experience with a demonstrable track record of deal execution across all phases of the deal lifecycle from origination through to completion, particularly on sell side transactions.
  • Experience of working on transactions related to the Energy sector.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work on a range of projects simultaneously to demanding timetables.
  • Personal drive and integrity to deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to high quality standards and a detail-oriented approach.
  • Independent thinker with the ability to identify problems and contribute to the development of solutions.
  • Comfortable discussing financially related commercial issues.
  • Financial modelling including LBO & DCF analysis.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personable team player with the ability to create confidence and trust with both colleagues and clients.
  • Able to build and develop strong relationships with clients and multipliers in the Energy market.
