Job description

M&A Manager | Nottingham | Office-Based | Up to £80,000 + Benefits

Are you looking to play a key role in shaping the growth strategy of a fast-paced, acquisitive business?

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a private equity-backed technology business that has achieved impressive growth through acquisition and continues to invest heavily in expanding its portfolio.

Working directly with the senior leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the company's acquisition-led growth strategy, taking opportunities from initial identification through to completion and successful integration into the wider business.

Whether you're already operating within an in-house M&A function, or you're looking to make your first move from Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Deals Advisory, Investment Banking or a leading Corporate Finance boutique, this role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile strategic projects, influence key business decisions and play a visible role in the company's continued growth journey.

The opportunity: Joining at an exciting stage of growth, you'll play a key role in helping the business identify, assess and capitalise on strategic opportunities that support its long-term expansion plans. You'll be involved in a broad range of commercial and strategic initiatives, including:

  • Identifying and evaluating business growth opportunities.
  • Researching markets, sectors and potential acquisition targets.
  • Building relationships with business owners, advisers and key stakeholders.
  • Analysing business performance, commercial opportunities and investment cases.
  • Supporting negotiations and helping drive opportunities through the full transaction lifecycle.
  • Coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution and completion of strategic transactions.
  • Producing insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
  • Preparing presentations and reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting the transition and onboarding of completed acquisitions into the wider business.
  • Supporting strategic projects that contribute to both acquisitive and organic growth.

About You:

  • Corporate Finance
  • Transaction Services
  • M&A Advisory
  • Corporate Development
  • Private Equity
  • Investment Banking

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience supporting or leading live transactions.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent commercial awareness.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent (desirable but not essential).

What’s On Offer?

  • Salary up to £80,000 depending on experience.
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making.
  • A pivotal role within a highly acquisitive growth business.
  • Significant deal flow and transaction activity.
  • Excellent progression opportunities as the business continues to scale.
  • Office-based role in Nottingham with daily exposure to key decision-makers and acquisition activity.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a business where acquisitions are fundamental to the growth strategy. For candidates currently working within Corporate Finance, Transaction Services or Deals Advisory, it offers the opportunity to move from advising on transactions to helping shape and deliver them from within a highly acquisitive business. You'll gain exposure, responsibility and influence that would typically take years to achieve elsewhere.

If you're ambitious, commercially minded and excited by the prospect of helping shape the future of a rapidly growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
