Job summary

Interim M&A Legal Counsel in London, on a 6-month contract, will join a global investment bank's EMEA legal team. The role offers front-office exposure on high-profile M&A transactions and advisory mandates in a fast-paced international environment, with full-time onsite work in London.

The candidate should be a qualified solicitor with 2+ years' PQE in Corporate/M&A, ideally from a leading law firm or investment bank, and possess strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder

Responsibilities

• Advising stakeholders across the investment banking business on a wide range of legal and commercial matters.
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating M&A advisory documentation, including engagement letters and confidentiality agreements.
• Advising on conflicts management and related legal considerations.
• Participating in business review and valuation committee meetings.
• Reviewing valuation and fairness opinion materials.
• Collaborating with internal legal teams across capital markets and other product areas.
• Managing relationships with external counsel where required.

Interim M&A Legal Counsel (6-Month Contract)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified corporate lawyer to join the EMEA legal team of a leading global investment bank on an initial six-month contract.

Working as part of a highly regarded M&A legal team, you will partner closely with investment banking professionals across a broad range of strategic and transactional matters.

This role offers the opportunity to gain genuine front-office exposure, working on high-profile M&A transactions and advisory mandates within a fast-paced international environment.

This is a fully onsite position based in London, five days per week.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising stakeholders across the investment banking business on a wide range of legal and commercial matters
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating M&A advisory documentation, including engagement letters and confidentiality agreements
• Advising on conflicts management and related legal considerations
• Participating in business review and valuation committee meetings
• Reviewing valuation and fairness opinion materials
• Collaborating with internal legal teams across capital markets and other product areas
• Managing relationships with external counsel where required

About You

To be considered, you should have:

• Qualification as a solicitor
• A minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in Corporate/M&A matters
• Experience gained within a leading law firm and/or a major investment bank
• Strong drafting, negotiation and contract review skills
• The ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide practical, commercial advice
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
