Job summary

Interim M&A Legal Counsel in London, on a 6-month contract, will join a global investment bank's EMEA legal team. The role offers front-office exposure on high-profile M&A transactions and advisory mandates in a fast-paced international environment, with full-time onsite work in London.

The candidate should be a qualified solicitor with 2+ years' PQE in Corporate/M&A, ideally from a leading law firm or investment bank, and possess strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor.
• 2+ years' PQE in Corporate/M&A.
• Experience in a leading law firm and/or a major investment bank.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and contract review skills.
• Ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide practical, commercial advice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Initial 6-month contract.
• Anticipated start date: January 2027.
• Full-time.
• Fully onsite in London.

Responsibilities

• Advising stakeholders across the investment banking business on a wide range of legal and commercial matters.
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating M&A advisory documentation, including engagement letters and confidentiality agreements.
• Advising on conflicts management and related legal considerations.
• Participating in business review and valuation committee meetings.
• Reviewing valuation and fairness opinion materials.
• Collaborating with internal legal teams across capital markets and other product areas.
• Managing relationships with external counsel where required.
