Job description

  • M&A - Acquisitions Specialist
  • Freelance
  • Suitable for an ex-Finance Director
  • Based anywhere in England
  • Predominantly remote and highly flexible
  • Full or part-time, as part of a freelance portfolio

A passionate and dynamic Acquisitions Specialist is sought on a freelance basis by a well-established Corporate Intermediary Firm. The role requires experience in engaging with the boards of public and private companies, with an interest in corporate strategy and the SME marketplace. Prior M&A, corporate development, or deal origination experience is advantageous but not essential.

This hybrid position is ideal for a self-motivated, experienced, meticulous, and mobile professional with their own base in England. Qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, MBA, or equivalent are preferred, but candidates with other relevant qualifications will also be considered.

The role offers flexibility—full-time or part-time—allowing integration into a diverse portfolio of income streams such as passive investments, non-executive or fractional FD roles, consultancy, online trading, or SME equity holdings. Entrepreneurs or those new to portfolio work with an innovative approach to business are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be seasoned, capable of engaging effectively with SME owners and corporate boards, especially former board members of private or public companies. They should possess the gravitas to handle deal creation with entrepreneurial owners.

Key skills include excellent financial and operational analysis, database research, interpersonal skills, and a passion for deal recognition and creation.

To apply, please send your full CV along with a cover letter explaining why you are suitable for this opportunity.
