Job summary

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Sheffield is recruiting a Band 6 Lymphoedema Specialist Practitioner to lead specialist lymphoedema care within the Ambulatory Wound Care and Lymphoedema Service. You will manage a caseload, provide clinical leadership, supervise Band 5 staff and develop services.

You will work in community clinics and patients' homes, collaborate with Tissue Viability, Vascular and Podiatry teams, and contribute to education, governance and audit.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in nursing / physiotherapy / occupational therapy from recognised training establishments.
  • Current registration from the relevant professional body.
  • Certificate in lymphoedema management or willingness to undertake.
  • Non‑Medical Prescriber or willingness to undertake.
  • First line management / Leadership course or willingness to undertake.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of adult patients with lymphoedema using specialist skills and evidence-based, patient-centred care.
  • Provide specialist support to AWC nurse-led clinics and community nursing teams.
  • Prescribe in line with wound care formulary and supervise cost-effective prescribing.
  • Deliver education and training to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to service development, governance and audit.
