Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Lymphoedema Service within Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. To deliver specialist Lymphoedema services, including initial assessments, treatments, and follow-ups in Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust locations as part of a small specialised team.

Main duties of the job
  • The Post Holder will work within a small team delivering Lymphoedema treatment/management, following Local, Regional, and National Policy in line with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
  • To provide comprehensive services, including initial assessment, intensive treatment packages, and follow-ups.
  • To deliver an efficient, effective service based on best and evidence-based practice, utilising appropriate software.
  • To raise awareness of the condition and the service.
  • Adhere to high standards of care within the Lymphoedema Service.

Job description
  • To provide high-standard, evidence-based care for people with chronic oedema, including primary and secondary Lymphoedema.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of Lymphoedema management.
  • To undertake assessment, treatment, and management of own caseload.
  • Assess physical, psychological, psychosocial, and environmental needs, liaising with the Lead Lymphoedema Practitioner as needed.
  • Develop and implement management programmes, including intensive and self-management techniques.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, considering legal and organisational requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses, adapting treatment plans accordingly.
  • Ensure clinical effectiveness aligns with current research and best practices.
  • Promote patient health, independence, and prevention of secondary complications through education, support, and provision of equipment.
  • Provide prompt assessment and management of Lymphoedema at end of life.
Person Specification

Essential:

  • Registered first/second level nurse or allied health professional
  • Lymphoedema/Chronic Oedema qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months post-registration experience
  • Experience supervising junior staff or students
  • Computer literacy
