Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking LV Commissioning Engineers/Technicians for a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in South West England. The role focuses on LV electrical testing and cold commissioning with 1,500V DC and 690V AC equipment.

Bristol area project with a 6-9 month contract and a competitive day rate. The ideal candidate has electrical engineering or technician background and hands-on commissioning experience, with fault-finding skills and ability to read

Qualifications

Electrical engineering or technician background with power systems testing and commissioning experience.
Familiar with LV AC/DC equipment and high voltage testing procedures.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings and follow commissioning procedures.

Responsibilities

Carry out LV electrical testing and cold commissioning activities across the BESS installation.
Complete installation inspections, electrical checks and functional testing per procedures.
Support commissioning on systems with 1,500V DC and 690V AC equipment.
Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults, record defects and report.
Prepare test records and commissioning documentation.
Coordinate with installation teams and permanent commissioning team for hot commissioning readiness.
Follow site safety procedures and electrical isolation requirements.
