Job summary

Our client in the Norfolk area seeks experienced Composite Technicians to join a busy luxury yacht production facility. You will contribute to the manufacture of high-quality vessels through composite laminating, resin infusion, structural fitting and finishing.

Roles involve reading drawings, applying gel coats, vacuum bagging and wet lay-up, with opportunities for overtime within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in composite laminating, resin infusion or similar.
• BAE trades laminator experience or transferable skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Practical wet lay-up, vacuum bagging and gel coat knowledge.
• Safe use of hand tools and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Experience in marine, automotive, aerospace or related composites.
• City & Guilds qualification or equivalent advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and plans.
• Identify and prepare fabrics, resins, gel coats and materials.
• Prepare moulds and apply gel coats by hand and spray.
• Carry out wet lay-up, laminating and resin infusion processes.
• Prepare components for infusion and apply vacuum bagging.
• Conduct vacuum drop tests, locate leaks and remediate.
• Mark component locations using drawings and laser equipment.
• Fit structural components, bulkheads and longitudinals.
• Trim and fit components with hand tools and workshop machinery.
• Complete repairs and fairing to high quality standards.
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with specifications.
