Job summary

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is offering a role to provide telephone-based lung health checks and support to patients. You will work within the NHS framework, promoting patient involvement, maintaining precise records and contributing to audits and continuous improvement.

Applicants should have experience in healthcare, be proficient in motivational interviewing, and know how to use EMIS and other clinical IT systems to support care delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a healthcare or NHS environment.
• Experience of adopting motivational interviewing techniques in practice and providing health promotion.
• Knowledge and or experience in use of EMIS.
• Knowledge of pharmacological treatments available to smokers, indications of their use, contraindications, and cautions.
• Experience of working with patients displaying challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Provide lung health checks consultations via telephone to eligible population.
• Promote patient involvement and lead service improvement through audits and research.
• Maintain clear, contemporaneous patient records in line with Trust policy.
• Attend training and contribute to service development and performance reviews.
