Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Lung Cancer Clinical Support Worker to join the MDT. The role focuses on holistic assessment, patient education and signposting, coordinating care across the lung cancer pathway and ensuring timely access to appointments and services.

You will work under CNS supervision to deliver personalised care, support carers and families, and maintain clear documentation within the cancer registry system.

Qualifications

• Holistic needs assessments are carried out to develop personalised care plans.
• Coordinate and monitor patients through the lung cancer pathway.
• Provide information and signpost to health, social care, financial and wellbeing services.
• Ability to support with phlebotomy as delegated after training.
• Work effectively within an MDT and under CNS supervision.

Responsibilities

• Undertake holistic needs assessments and develop personalised care plans.
• Signpost patients to relevant health, social care and wellbeing services.
• Coordinate and monitor progress through the lung cancer pathway.
• Communicate and document patient information with the MDT and primary care.
• Support phlebotomy and other delegated clinical activities after training.
