Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust invites applications for a Macmillan Oncology Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist to cover 12 months maternity leave. The post is NHS AfC Band 7, part-time 30 hours per week, based at the Coventry site with travel to Rugby St Cross and Maple Day Unit.

The successful candidate will lead specialist nursing care across the lung cancer pathway, provide expert clinical advice, and develop nurse-led clinics.

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant subject; Master’s degree or working towards.
• Advanced Communication Skills Training and Non-medical prescribing qualifications.
• Extensive oncology experience at Band 6 or above.

Responsibilities

• Establish and provide a specialist nursing service for lung cancers undergoing SACT and radiotherapy.
• Participate in high-quality care from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up.
• Develop nurse-led clinics and undertake advanced health assessments and prescribing.
