Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Lung Cancer Screening Service for an enthusiastic and innovative nurse to deliver care and services for people eligible for Lung Cancer Screening.

The Lung Cancer Screening Programme is a national scheme that identifies people aged 55-74 at increased risk of lung cancer, aiming to improve detection and treatment outcomes.

The post holder will work with existing team members to support current services. You will be expected to work both within the team and independently, demonstrating appropriate clinical skills and knowledge, and managing a clinical caseload daily. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to foster positive relationships at all levels.

Please note, the post may require assessment centre or psychometric testing.

Please note we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date once sufficient applications are received.

You will be involved in developing clinical services, participating in research and audits, and maintaining accurate records and data management.

The postholder will work across all sites within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust, managing their own caseload of routine and complex patients, and coordinating care between hospital, primary, and community services to facilitate early diagnosis and optimized treatment pathways.

Our services include hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck, and Hexham, as well as community hospitals, clinics, and home care services, providing patients with greater choice and independence. We prioritize high-quality patient care and aim to deliver an exceptional experience for every patient.
