Job summary

Brierley S of E School is seeking a part-time School Meal Supervisory Assistant to supervise students during lunchtimes and support welfare and safety across the school grounds. The role is term-time only with a fixed actual salary of £2,808.25 for 5 hours per week and requires adherence to DBS checks.

The successful candidate will monitor dining areas, maintain order, assist with feeding where needed, maintain cleanliness, and report any incidents promptly according to school procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain conduct and wellbeing of students.
• Understanding of needs of children aged 2–19.
• Respond calmly to situations as they arise.
• Professionalism and ability to work independently.
• Commitment to confidentiality.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Experience supervising children and young people.
• Basic English competence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during the midday break in school buildings and grounds.
• Support dining areas during lunch and assist with feeding where required.
• Maintain cleanliness by clearing spillages and debris between sittings.
• Report concerns about student welfare or safety using school procedures.
• Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive environment.
