Job summary

St Augustine's of Canterbury RC Primary School is seeking a Welfare Assistant to provide lunch-time support for 6.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 11:55am - 1:10pm. You will help supervise pupils, ensure safety and behaviour during lunch, and assist with setting up dining areas.

The role requires strong communication skills and empathy with children, with the ability to work calmly under pressure and uphold the school’s Catholic ethos during the mid-day break.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the dinner queue and supervise pupils eating.
• Ensure safety, welfare and good conduct during the midday break.
• Prevent pupils from leaving the dining area with food and monitor behaviour.
• Discipline pupils who break the rules and manage incidents in the playground and dining area.
• Set up and clear away tables and chairs after dinner service.
