Job summary

Devonshire Primary Academy is seeking a Midday Supervision Assistant to support lunchtime provision in our school dining hall. This is a permanent, term-time only role, working 8 hours 20 minutes per week from 11:40 to 13:20, Monday to Friday, starting 30 November 2026 or as soon as possible.

You will supervise pupils during lunch, encourage healthy choices and good table manners, assist younger children with cutting food, promote a calm, hygienic dining environment, respond to minor incidents,

Qualifications

• Duties include supervising pupils during lunch, promoting healthy choices, assisting younger children with cutting food, encouraging good table manners, maintaining a calm and hygienic dining environment, handling minor incidents, cleaning and safety duties.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting pupils while they eat their lunch
• Encouraging healthy choices and good table manners
• Assisting younger children with cutting food and packaging
• Promoting a calm, safe dining environment
• Responding to minor incidents, accidents and spillages
• Cleaning and sanitising tables between sittings
• Sweeping floors and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene
• Following health and safety procedures and safeguarding responsibilities
